How the Project Started

Zimba Company has been part of Maine’s construction scene since the 1950s, with decades of work in drywall, plaster, EIFS, and metal stud framing. Their team has a strong reputation in the trades, but their website didn’t reflect that. The old site was dated, thin on detail, and left visitors unsure about the full scope of their services.

They came to us asking for a complete rebuild — not a light redesign. They wanted a site that matched the strength of their work and made it easier for both homeowners and contractors to understand what they do. They chose our Custom Web Design Package, giving us full control over the strategy, structure, writing, design, SEO, and buildout.

Laying the Foundation

We started by setting clear goals: create a clean, professional digital home that represents a long-standing Maine contractor. Zimba provided their logo and a general direction for tone. From there, we developed a full identity system, a site structure that made sense on any device, and a layout that aligned with their reputation.

We built a brand voice that’s direct, steady, and easy to read. It speaks to the two audiences they serve — homeowners who need plain guidance and commercial clients who expect clear information. We wrote every word on the site from scratch so the messaging would be consistent and accurate across all pages.

Clearer Positioning

One of the biggest gaps in their old website was confusion around the Cash & Carry side of the business. Customers didn’t always understand that Zimba is both a contractor and a supplier.

We addressed this by weaving the supplier message into:

  • The homepage

  • The service pages

  • The Cash & Carry section

  • Vendor partner placements

This solved a core clarity issue and helped visitors immediately understand how they can work with Zimba.

Design & UX

This was a mobile-first project from day one. A large portion of trades-related traffic comes from people on the jobsite using their phones, so we designed the layout with that in mind: wide spacing, clear text hierarchy, trimmed descriptions, and predictable flow from section to section.

We built a consistent design system across the entire site. Spacing, headings, button patterns, and section styles were standardized so the experience feels stable no matter where someone lands. The vendor logo wall became a visual anchor for credibility, and the project gallery helps new visitors quickly understand their capabilities.

Service Page Structure

Each service page — Drywall, Plaster, EIFS, and Metal Stud Framing — needed more depth. We created a structure that serves both clarity and search performance. Each page includes:

  • A short, direct introduction

  • A simple “What is ___?” explanation

  • A three-step process overview

  • A clean list of what’s included

  • A Zimba-focused section explaining why clients trust them

  • Relevant FAQs

  • Optimized metadata

This layout helps visitors understand the work while also supporting long-term ranking.

SEO Rebuild

The old site had no SEO framework, so we rebuilt everything. We wrote search-focused copy, added tailored metadata, established a clean URL structure, improved accessibility, and built internal links that help search engines understand the content. These updates lay the groundwork for steady organic growth instead of unpredictable traffic.

Cash & Carry Improvements

The Cash & Carry section became a major focus. Before the rebuild, the site barely explained how material pickup worked or what was available.

We rebuilt that section with:

  • Vendor logos and outbound links

  • Clear pickup and delivery details

  • Updated language highlighting their boom truck capabilities

  • Simple CTAs that guide users to take action

This section now acts as a true resource instead of a hidden page.

Execution & Timeline

Since Zimba selected the Custom Web Design Package, we handled every part of the project:

  • Site planning and strategy

  • Complete copywriting

  • Design from scratch

  • Full buildout

  • Migration from their old platform

  • QA, accessibility, and performance review

  • DNS and launch support

Even with the custom scope, the entire project moved fast. We completed the full redesign — from kickoff to launch — in under 20 days. Their responsiveness made the process smooth at each milestone.

Launch & Handoff

Once everything was approved, we handled DNS, performed device and speed testing, tightened performance, completed SEO reviews, and finalized accessibility updates. After launch, we trained the Zimba team on how to make edits in their CMS.

The finished product is clean, structured, easy to navigate, and aligned with the standards their work is known for.

Final Notes

This redesign gave Zimba Company a digital presence that finally reflects their reputation. Their new site shows their history, professionalism, and capabilities in a way the old site never could.
